What image appears when you hear the term "biker"? If you're like most, it's that of a big, grizzled, tattooed man in leather on a Harley. Well, there's a new culture of motorcycle riders popping up all over the nation and it's in the form of women. Women have founded their own clubs, non-profit organizations, and even businesses all around motorcycles. Each year the numbers of female riders in the states grow. Our show explores the culture and also how it's being percieved.
Kickstart takes two women who have always been curious about motorcyles and thrust them into this community on a nationwide ride. Boni and Caryn, both stunt women, are no strangers to a challenenge or a male-dominated culture. We follow these two women from picking up their bikes, to taking their drivers test, to touring all over this great land of ours
Our show is best desscribed as "informative reality." Informative because we educate on the "nautical lifestyle" - meaning all types of boats and ships, how they're are built and maintained, the innvoation & technology, and the social atmosphere that goes along with it. Reality because, to accomplish this, we give our hosts, Chip and Pilar, over to private owners, the Coast Guard and Navy, pro speed boat racing crews, commerical fishermen, and even the large cruiseline companies to put them to the test.
